Buffy vampire slayer games pc

The player can lock-on target an attacking vampire and engage in fisticuffs. Buffy can punch and kick and chain these two button presses together to perform simple combos. She may also block and dodge enemy attacks when locked-on. Buffy learns new moves and adds the combo to her Slayer's Journal throughout the game. Some moves require Street Fighter-styled inputs to execute such as the flying triple kick which is Towards-Towards-Kick.

Typically, enemies are vampires and undead and once their health is whittled away the Slayer needs to perform a finishing move. For vampires, the player can use a stake or any hand-held weapon or perform an environmental kill. Within the game world there are some sharp objects that protrude, for instance, from a stack of lumber which Buffy might grab and throw a vampire into.

Some vampires may also be thrown off ledges into flames in order to be destroyed. Simple undead creatures need to be decapitated and Buffy can simple step on their skulls when the enemies are prone.

Weapons in Buffy the Vampire Slayer feature weapon strength bars which deplete over use. Once the bar is depleted the weapon is destroyed and unusable. Nearly all of the weapons are used in the game's brawling elements but the Crossbow is used from a first-person perspective and allows Buffy to snipe vampires from a distance.

Sarah Michelle Gellar 's absence is the only notable missing cast member from the television series. Giselle Loren fills the role of Buffy and is a suitable sound-alike. In the game, players hear Buffy speak dozens of lines of dialogue that suitably fit the tone and charm of the television series. The rest of the original cast reprise their regular television roles:.

Wide screen is not supported. The game plays excellently in a , having sometimes an even better frame rate than its native console. Buffy ships EA's adaptation of the vampire slayer ships to stores in North America.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer goes gold Electronic Arts announces that its TV-inspired action game for the Xbox is complete and will ship later this month. Levels are small, and the variety of vampire enemies one even has a mullet are best described as the brain-dead undead. While you can pull out a solid number of offensive tricks, most don't need to be used.

For example, when you encounter an enemy, you can't leave that particular scene until they're killed like in Golden Axe. Problem is, this creates a wall of sorts on each side of the scene.

Simply back the enemy against this invisible wall, knock them down with a sweep kick and drive a stake through their heart. Voila, one dead vampire. Sadly, this even works on the bosses, so you can finish the game in an hour. Sarah Michelle Gellar is hot and alt, but I'll pass on this game and stick with the show. Chances for this Buffy game looked slim after the death of the Dreamcast; titles bound for extinct platforms usually fade into development hell.

Thankfully, this sultry slayer doesnt go down without a fight. And against all odds, the Buffster has made her way to Xbox with a substantial graphical overhaul.

Based on the long-running TV series, this action-adventure title thrusts you into the role of Buffy Summers, a perky, popular chick chosen to combat the undead forces that threaten the earth.

The game roughly encapsulates some of the plot elements from the early episodes, so youll control Buffy as she masters the art of slaying.

Her mentor, Giles, instructs her on the finer points of kicking, punching and staking the hearts of the vampiric beasts attacking Sunnydale. As your skills improve, youll learn to wield different flesh-rending weapons and dazzling magical attacks.

Youll also interact with many of the characters from the show, including Angel, Spike, Willow and Cordelia. The series unique sense of humor survives the transition intact Buffy and her foes engage in witty exchanges during fights, and youll have a chance to chat with most of your friends after each level.

Im really impressed at how well this game captures the unique, irreverent appeal of the show. Its all here clever humor, interpersonal drama and satisfying, ass-stomping action. The game does feel made for fans, with every character model and voice matching up to the TV show.

The world is considerably matched to the real setting to its merit. All the voice actors apart from a couple are the same for some credibility. The gameplay does make an effort to embrace their longtime fans, even if the mechanics are a little stale. The enemies are diverse, and there are plenty of weapons and techniques to choose from.

The combat of the game simply doesn't feel polished, however. At times 'Chaos Bleeds' becomes more of a drag than entertaining, trying to complete levels with stiff animations and a story that just doesn't really capture a general audience. That being said, parts of the game can be quite entertaining. The little quips the characters divulge do make interactions quite humorous. The little mini-games such as survival mode and bunny-catching are actually fun. If it weren't for the clunky combat, it could attract a sizeable audience.
